BOWLING.

DIXON CUP MATCH. On. Saturday a rink consisting of Head, I no. Ross and Nye journeyed to Woodville to contest the Dixon cup with the present holders. The green was in great playing order, which proved somewhat of a stumbling block for the visitors who had wide-drawing bowls. .On the fourth head scores stood at four tall, but from then on Woodville had all their own way, until the seventeenth head when the scores were Woodville 22, Foxton 5. Nye was receiving very little support from his associates, ami had to adopt aggressive tactics at each head in an endeavour to reverse the position, and did well in confining the successive scores to a minimum. On the eighteenth head Foxton notched a single, and the same resulted on the nineteenth and while the final end pro-, duced five for the visitors, the scores, being Woodville 22, Foxton 13. Woodville. —A. James, J. Pearson, P. H. Mules, 0. W. Wardrop (s') 22. Foxton.—S. Head, Jno. Ross, R. Ron re, W. Xye (s), 13. TRIANGULAR CONTEST. The first round of the Triangular contest, postponed last week on account of the weather, will be held at Levin—to-morrow. The teams from Foxton will be the same as •last week, with the. exception that MeKeown will fill the vacancy occasioned bv Nye being unable to make the trip.
