Resolved “That the League file as official records the Levin Chronicle report of the Pox ton Conference; also deputation to Wellington; statement of president of Levin Chamber of Commerce; plan of the Levin-Foxton-Marton route as prepared by Messrs Toogood, Jones, and Holms; Hansard No. 2(>, with rail wav working figures; 191(5 and 1921 Commission reports. Resolved “That the Executive seek authority to publish, if deemed expedient, a brief pamphlet setting forth essentials of the ease for constructing the Levin-Foxton-Marton link; in the interim of issuing such pamphlet 100 copies of the statement drafted by tlie President of the Levin Chamber of Commerce to be utilised for info/mative purp< ISOS.” Moved by Mr Holifls and seconded by Mr M"a flies on: “That the Exeintive records satisfaction as concerning the measure of district sup--I,ort accorded the deputation overtures of October Kith by various lorn! bodies and Chambers of Commerce; thanks the members of the deputation and members for Otalci, Kangitikei and Alanawatu, for their i-o-nperation; also district press for space devoted to ',he movement." — Carried.

Holms he asked lo advise his fee for providing a si.-dement in regard to constructional features of the Levin-Eoxton-Martno link, with estimates as to sectional costs between Levin and Fox ton ; Boston and Himatangi: Ilium tangi-Rongotea-Sanson- Pukemu; and Pukenui-Bulls-Marton.” “That the chairman of the League submit Jill statements as tabulated in due course to the Commission-; all statements to reach the secretary not later than Wednesday, 19tli inst.” CONSTITUTION OF LEAGUE. The following basis for a constil ut ion, as drafted by the secretary, was tentatively approved for submission to the next general meeting, lixed for Wednesday, 26th, at Buxton: — (1) The organisation shall be entitled “The Levin- Boxton-Marton .Railway League.” (2) The objective of the League shall be to promote the claims of the route between Levin, Fox ton and Morton as calculated to sifbstant hilly improve the Norli Island Main Trunk railway system by reducing the distance,"travelling time, and running expense on the Mellington-Auekland-New Plymouth journeys, also better serve the passenger and transport needs of a populous and productive countryside. (3) The jurisdiction of the League shall extend over the local body areas enumerated as follow: Rangitikei, Manawatu aud Horowhenua Counties; Marion, Boston aud Levin boroughs; Bulls and Bongo tea Town Districts. (4) The League shall be constituted on the following basis of membership: Each local body, Chamber of Commerce, or other associated body, to be represented at general meetings by two delegates;
and individual members. (f>) The finances of the League shall lie provided by means of a contribution of not less than 10/fi from each individual supporter, thus establishing membership. (ti) Officers shall be elected as follow: President, two vice-presid-ents, secretary-treasurer, the foregoing officers together with one representutive from each constituent body to form an Executive Committee. (7) The headquarters of the League shall be located at Poxton, as being the most central situation, and the annual meeting held in that town. General meetings shall be held at Levin, Poxton, Sanson, and Marton successively, likewise meetings of the Executive. (8) The quorum at a general meeting shall he formed by the presence of nm less than seven delegates or members or representatives from at least four associated bodies. The quorum at executive meetings to be three members. (9) The president shall convene all meetings, general to be held at least ' half-yearly and executive quarterly. Otherwise special general meetings shall he held on the requisition of seven delegates or members, or four associated bodies, and executive on the requisition of three members thereof. Such general meetings to be convened within i-1 days of receipt of requisition, and executive seven days. Notices as to general meetings to be issued seven clear days prior to same and executve three clear days.
