MEFT ING () F C(> AIM ITT EE. A committee meeting of the above Association was held in the Racing Club office on Thursday night. Present : Air A. X. Smith (in the chair) and Messrs W. E. Barber, D. Christie, 1). R. Ogilv.v, G. Alexander, Af. E. Perreau, S. Austin, E. Parkin, H. Hutchins, 0. A. Pearson and the secretary (Air F. Rimmer). Apologies for absence were received from the president (Air Jewell) and Air R. Brvant. A letter was read from the Foxton Racing Club, granting the Association the use of the racecourse on which to hold their sports meeting. The Palmerston X. Athletic Association wrote stilting that it had no objection to the Foxon Association making their meeting a profession:! I one, hut pointed out the necessity of protecting amateurs againsl professionals.

Biirlier. that the coming meeting he an amateur meeting. Mr Hutchins suggested that the matter he held over until the next general meeting. It was pointed out that at the last general meeting this question had been left to the committee to decide. After further general dismission the motion was carried. The question of the most suitable linv on which to hold the forthcoming meeting was then discussed. The two days at variance were Wednesday and Saturday. Mr Ogilv.v pointed out that, owing to recent interruptions, millers would not he prepared to close down .hi a Wednesday. The chairman said the question of closing for one day had not yet been considered hy the Retailers' Association, and he was of opinion that they would favour a Wednesday holiday. Decided to hold the sports mecton the local racecourse on a Saturday in February. Decided to confer with Captain Pollard re drawing up of sports programme, as a military camp would lie in progress in Foxton at the time of the sports. Decided to hold another committee meeting next Thursday night. Air Perreau brought up the question of granting a donation to the Sports Queen. After discussion it was decided on the motion of -Messrs Perreau and Smith that the matter he held over.

Accounts were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
