(Published by Arrangement.) FARMERS’ SHOP DAY. The Farmers advertise a sponge cake competition. The entry fee is (id and the cake becomes the property of the shop. The winner will receive a handsome prize. Now ladies, let us see what can he done with Sponge Cakes. No butter to he used and the cake must he iced filled. * « * MONSTER. SPORTS MEETING, Easton Park, SATURDAY, at, 1.30 p.m. Events for all. Baby Show. Queen Alexandra’s Own Band from Wanganui will he in attendance on the Grounds. Fire Brigade Contest. See advertisement. * * * The Sports Queen Case of Spoons drawn at the Dance on Tuesday was won by Mrs L. M. Mae Lean, number 00. The lady’s Boudoir Cap was won by Mrs H. Wright, number 30. * * * The social evening. under the auspices of the Sports will be held in Mr M. Perreau’s ’£ea Rooms TONIGHT. Music and refreshments. Just quietly, it will he worth attending. * * * The Waltzing Competition at the Sports Dance was won by Miss R. Dunn and Mr S. Jonson. * * * The Sports Committee appreciate the support they received from all directions at their recent dance, the dropping of the Jlag the next day was probably due to the Treasurer oversleeping (contented). * * * FARMERS' SHOP DAY SATURDAY NEXT. Garden party at W. E. Barber Esq.’s residence on WEDNESDAY, 19th inst. ‘’Ard up’ dance ai Manawatu Heads WEDNESDAY, November 12th at 8.15 p.m. Flannel Dance at Moutoa FRIDAY, November 26th. We hope to see everyone at these functions. * * * Citizens announce a Ball in Municipal Theatre on November 13th. Also a Cabaret. Tables ehn be reserved for the Cabaret, on application to the Secretary.
