Owing io the recent heavy rains the Munawafu is rising rapidly. Woodville wired at 8.45 this morning that the Alanawatu had risen Bft. above normal and at 9.10 a.m. it lmd risen a further two feet. Ash hurst wired at 8 a.m. that the Alanawatu was 12ft. above norma). At 10.50 Ashhurst reported that the Mangahao river was in high flood. Kumeroa wired this morning that the Alanawatu was in the highest flood recorded for many years. At Moutoa the river is rapidly rising and it is anticipated that the -Toad will be impassable this after noon.
