TRESPASSING ON EASTON PARK.

Ever since the inauguration of the local Beautifying Society, that body has been troubled, fo a certain extent, by acts of vandalism perpretrated in the different reserves about the town, shrubs and flowers in the main standing the brunt of such acts. Easton Park has been particularly troubled in this connect inn, owing no doubt, to the fact that it is mostly used as a sports area. It was finally determined that some drastic action be taken to terminate these ads of vandalism and as a result five men were bailed at yesterday’s S.M. Court, charged with entering Easton Park by means other than provided for such purpose, on Saturday, September 27th. The live accused were Charles Renata, R. Tleta, W, Hotoherini, and J. Lvons.

Air Bergin in outlining the ease lor the Corporation, said that it was not the fart dial the men had gained admittance to the park without Paying the gale money to see the football match so much as he fact that people were in the habit of going through the fence ataQ trampling down the shrubs and flowers, that the charges had been made. It was to protect beautifying works. Each accused was lined 5/- with costs 7/-.
