BACHELORS’ BALL.
Tin Bachelors' Hall rook place in tlie Town Hull on Thursday evening and was pronounced by one and ail as one id' the most enjoyable functions of the season. An energetic •commit tee had been working through the day with the decorations arid a most pleasing effect was produced with hl.-o-k and white streamers, arli.-<liea!!y fes.looned from the ceiling, and greenery. Visitors were present from all surrounding districts and the lloor, whieh was well filled, pi(‘seiited a scene of animation and gaiety, soldi very pfclii frocks being worn by the ladies. The orchestra stand had been arranged in the centre of the hall and excellent music was supplied by Larkin’s F.iiie Orchestra, extras being supplied by the -lasmanian Orchestra (Levin), Blue and While Orchestra, Miss M. Delany, Mr K. Hirini and others. .Novelty dances held during the evening were a one-step with coloured light effects, the “Blues," and a Sturm Waltz. Atr Povtnuiu officiated as AI.C. The supper room was also decorated with black and white streamers, the supper arrangements being in the hands of Mr J. Walls. Dancing was carried on until an early hour.
