DIVORCE AND RE-MARRIAGE.

Auckland, October 23. At the Anglican Synod the Rev. F. thirty moved a resolution expressing concern at the alarming increase in divorces in New Zealand, and urging on the clergy tbe vital necessity for constant and clear teaching regarding Christian marriage. The mover said the Church of England had definitely laid it down that divorced persons were not to lie re-married by its ministers. but parties went off to other denominations that were thought very broad-minded. The Rev. Mr Bell characterised ibi New Zealand law on divorce as a positive disgrace to any country calling itself Christian. The Rev. Mr Steele thought the Church should have no relations with persons who had committed \he sin of re -marriage after divorce.
