MILITARY TRAINING.
CAMPS TO BE HELD THIS YEAR FOXTON RACECOURSE TO BE USED. . The compulsory camps, mice a feature of Territorial training, after ' being abandoned for several years, have been again incorporated in the syllabus. For some time past, local defence officers, says the Standard, have been investigating the possibilities of several camp sites and have finally decided on Foxton. The first artillery camp since the war will now be held on the racecourse, the use of which has been granted by the .Foxton Racing Club. The two local batteries (the 7-th and Bth) will go under canvass towards the end of November, eight days being spent in camp by each battery. A suitable range for live shell practice having been found, the annual shoot will be carried out while the men are in camp.
