AUGUST WORKING
The amount. of gas manufactured (hiring the month of August was f>05, 000 c.fi., which, wirli the amount in the holder on August Ist., 10,900 ft., made a total of 5‘21,900f't. Luring the month 410,90(1 ft. was used by consumers, 24,000fi. in street lamps, 27,000 fi. at the works and there was 17,(50014. in the holder on September Ist., making a total of 485,500 ft. and leaving 30,400 ft., representing 7.1 per cent. unaccounted for. Forty-nine tons of eoal were carbonised during the month, yielding 10,300 ft. to the ton. The receipts for the'month totalled £295 2/0, and were made up as follows. —(las sales (lighting) £llO 1-1/11, heat and power £99 1/5. coke sales £35 9/0, lav sales £3l 13/-, fittings £ll 5/S, miscellaneous 18/-. The expenditure totalled £259 14s 4d, and was made up as follows: — Coal £l2B 11/1. salaries uml wages .059 1 8/3, fittings £4 LI 9, workingexpenses Cl 5 5, engine repairs £l (t (*. repairs £•! 1 0. tools 1,0. cartage and freight 9 8, Interest and Sinking Fund C. 59 11 S.

a good demand for coke and a good supply of coal is on hand. —Adopted
