A endive tournament and dance was held in the Beach Hall on Friday eveniny, in aid of the fund for match-lining the hail. Mr and Mrs Hartley won the gents’ and ladies’ prizes and Mrs Turoa and Mr fhaffev annexed the “booby” prizes. Mr Aisop handed (he prizes to the respective winners. After a dainty supper, provided by the ladies, had been handed round, Ihe door was cleared for dancing and was kept merrily going until 1 a.m. Mesdames Hay and Murdoch and Mr H. Larsen kindly supplied the music. 11 is to be hoped that this will l>e the forerun in-r of many more such pleasant entertainments.
