THE LEVIN-MARTON DEVIATION.

(To The Editor). Sir, —-In your article of Saturday Mr Linklater questions whether I am to be taken seriously over this matter. Please let me make it clear that I am quite serious about it for the following reasons: —(1) In common with other business people here I want the Levin-Marton deviation because it will make Poston a railway centre and ultimately a distributing centre, and in the meantime will stimulate business and provide work fur our unemployed in this district. (2)1 am determined to push Foxton, in spite <>f Mr Linklater’s apathy, because my interests are in Poxton, while his interests are in Palmerston. (31 1 am opposed to the Massey Government which he supports and which is blocking this progress and all other progress in this district. (4) On National grounds, because the whole country will benefit by the Lovin-Marton deviation, while no one will benefit by the Palmerston local deviation except a few Palmerston land speculators who have bought land in the liangitikei street direction, and whom I shall name when the opportune time comes. Give us a general election and Mr Linklater will see whether or not he can take me seriouslv. —T am etc. P. L. HOLLINGS.
