MURDER AND ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

Auckland, October 5. . A shocking domestic tragedy occurred in Manawa Rd., oil Victoria Avenue, Remuera, this evening, resulting, in the death of Airs James Simpkins, aged 26. Her husband, aged 53, a bush contractor, formerly of Thames, was admitted to hospital. The parties had been Jiving with their respective families as Simpkins stated later in hospital. The wife met her husband by appointment at the street corner to discuss her intention to separate as she was unhappy. A few minutes later a scream was heard. The woman was found dead with a terrible razor cut in her throat, and the man lying beside her, unconscious from a similar wound, with a razor lying near bis outstretched hand. Deceased leaves two boys, aged two and four years respectively.
