Signora Rossi, after stating that the charge was untrue, added pathetically: “I could not help men admiring my beauty and paying me compliments, but in future they will avoid me, and I shall lie happy.” The husband, who is disconsolate declares that he will engage the best doctors to try to restore bis wife’s beauty.
