STEEPLECHASE MEETING AT AWAPUNI. The Manawatu Hunt Club’s annual steeplechase meeting was held at Awapuni yesterday. The day broke dull and threatening but the rain held oft' until the greater part of the programme was completed. The totalisator handled £11,362 as against £12,671 at Feilding last year. Results: — Raumai Hunters’ Hurdles. —Diamond Nap 1, Kaika 2, Chesforte 3. Won by six lengths. Time 3.34 l-O. Foxton Maiden Fiat. —lyauuka 1, Birthmark 2, Newbury King 3. Won by a head. Time 1.22 4-5. Manawatu Hunt Club Steeplechase —War Loan 1, Adrienne 2, Te Toa 3. Won by two lengths. Time 6:21. Te Matai Hack Hurdles. —Bonibrook 1, Ayun Kara 2, Atapo 3. Wou by half a length. Time 3.56 1-5. Kiwitea Bracelet Handicap. —Gay Bobbie 1, Punishment 2, lvawana 3. Won by three lengths. Time 3.1 2-5. Kairanga Open Handicap.—Happy Days 1, Tussore 2, Santonio 3. Won by a length. Time 1.34. Parorangi Steeplechase Handicap. —Oneroa 1, Kiugi 2, Te Toa 3. Won by four lengths. Time 4.3 4-5. Newbury Hack Handicap.—Sir Pam 1, Strongholt 2, Bon March 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.35 2-5.
