MONTHLY SITTING. The sitting of the S.M. Court was held yesterday morning before Air J. L. Stout, S.M. WANDERING STOCK. For allowing stock to wander on County roads Yee Lee was lined 5/v/itli costs 15/-, A. J. Thompson 5/with lti/- costs; T. Morgan 10/wiih 10/- costs; A. Groom 5/- with A - costs. 4
in bringing a similar charge against W. 11. Smith, the inspector (Air Berry) said that he asked Smith if some stock wandering on t tie mad belonged to him but he had i cplicd iu the yegative and had asked him up to the house where he detained the inspector while he sent a boy out to put the stock in his paddock. On returning to the road witness found the cattle gone. His assistant, who was waiting in the car, had witnessed the whole business, however. Fined 10/- with costs 26/-. FAILURE TO REGISTER FIREARMS. J. Durham, for failing to re-re-gisLer a rifle within six days of his change of address, was lined 10/with costs 7/-. BREACH OF LICENSING ACT. M. Griffin, licensee of the Manawatu Hotel, was lined £1 with costs y/- for supplying a Maori with two bottles of beer, contrary to the-Act. CIVIL CASES. Plaintiff by default was entered up in. the following civil cases:— Moore and Bergin (Air Bergin) v. A. H. Richards, #3 10/-, costs 23/6; A. L. Oliver v. TunAßeiH, 119 11/5, costs Jb3 1/-* JUDGMENT SUMMONS. R. Ixi'ibb (AH - Holiings) was ordered to pay R. Randle £7 0/6 with 15/6 costs by monthly instalments in default 14 days imprisonment.
