“The Girl of the Golden West’’ is to he screened at the Royal Theatre to-night. It is a story of love and hardships, danger and sacriiiee and contains some of the most unusual situations ever c-oneeved a dramatist’s mind. As a matter of fuel, the play lias been used for many years as a standard of plot construction. In the east are J. Warren Kerrigan, Sylvia Breamer, Rosemary Theby, Russel Simpson, and other noted screen players. So popular was the novel of the same name that it was read by huudreds of,,thousands. You must see the picture version of this tiue story. Mermaid comedy: '• F. 0.8.” On Monday night Monte Blue has l lie leading- male Vole in Grace Saunderson .Michie’s latest and best photoplay, "Defying Destiny.” Mr Blue has scored heavily in many productions, but assures an even greater success in this vehicle with Irene Rich playing opposite him. It is. a lirst-cluss eutertaument and those who enjoy an interesting story should not miss it.
TOM MIX AT THE TOWN HALL,
Experience tells that you must he early to get a seat at the Town Hall on Tom Mix nights, so patrons are advised to he early to-night when “Eyes of the Forest,” Mix’s latest feature, will be presented. The new role of an army aviator in the forest air service, has proved admirably iitting to Tom Mix and his stunts both on horseback and aeroplane add still further to his reputation as a producer of thrills. Mix is ably supported in “Eyes of the Forest” by Tony (the wonderful horse), Pauline Starke, Sid Jordan and Duster Gardner. On Monday night “Venus of the South Seas,” starring Annette K,elierman, will be screened. The story is of the adventures of a white man and his motherless daughter, who lived upon an island in the South Seas. It is full of action. Prices 1/- and 1/9 children 3d and (id. The main attraction is supported by a Star comedy entitled “Exit Caesar.” You must see this programme, with New Zealand scenes in it.
