HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
The High Commissioner's cable, dated the Tilth inst., reads: “Hemp, Manila market, firm but .quiet. ‘J' grade, September-November shipments sold at £45 10/- t<T£46 and now quoted at £46 5/- sellers, Output of Manila for August was 1,034000 bales against 1,003,000 for the same period last year.' Stocks in Manila on the 31st August were 121,000 against 172,000 last year. Stocks in Great Britain were 6746 against 20,984 last year- New Zealand market steady with no change in prices,”
