LEVIN-GREATFORD RAILWAY DEVIATION.
At the monthly meeting of the Levin Chamber of Commerce, held on Monday night, the Executive recommended that the Foxton Chamber of Commerce be asked to resuscitate the Levin-Great ford Railway League and hold a conference of the local bodies interested, a copy of the resolution passed by the annual meet in*;' of the Levin Chamber to be forwarded.
The President (Mr A. C. Holms), spoke in favour of this course. Tf had been suggested that, in view of the Minister’s statement that two commissions had reported against the deviation, it should not be per severed with, but he was not inclined to take a knock-out blow lying down, and he was pleased to sec that Mr Linklaler had spoken strone|\ in support of the deviation in tlie House, and certainly did not intend to accept the present position as linnl. The Executive's recommendation was adopted.
