STOWAWAYS FROM ENGLAND.
—4 A SYMPATHETIC MAGISTRATE
Auckland, August 27. At the Police Court to-day four a.Mi, whose ages ranged from 22 to 27, admit led being stowaways on the steamer Mnimoa from Liverpool to Auckland. They staled that they were unable to got work in England and decided to try New Zealand. The captain of ihe Maimoa stated that there seemed no limit to the number of stowaways. Perhaps next vuvago there would he a dozen. Mr Poynfon, S.M.: “Well, yon know what it is to he out of work They could see prosperity out here, and I must say these men seem of the right type.” lie ordered them to come up for sentence if called on.
