COAL BUNKERS SAtOI' LEERING

An exciting scene was witnessed on the steamer Rio 01a.ro. When smoke was seen issuing from the ,-oal hunkers the alarm was given nnd the lire brigade was soon in attendance. - The coal was only smouldering ami it was a. laborious task gelling to the seat of the trouble, flic ship's company had an anxious time, as the vessel was loaded with inllamiiiiible coal and the consequences would have Been serious if tlie healed coal had burst into fiames. Tlie brigade is still working on the Ver-sel.
