DISPUTED EDUCATION BOARD ELECTION.
NOMINATIONS MAILED BUT NOT RECEIVED. Willing foil, Last Night. Considerable interest is being manifested in a- ease in which it is alleged that owing to certain irregularities, the nominations of candidates for the Education Board were not received in time, asking that the election be declared void. After the case for petitioners wa.s presented, witnesses gave evidence as to the procedure adopted by the post, office with registered letters, in which it was stated the nominations were forwarded to the Education Board. The secretary of the Education Board gave evidence of the eleariug of the mail boxes on the day. Mr Stewart, the secretary, said he had held that, position for 20 years, and said that to make sure of all letters being received, he cleared the last mail himself. The nominations were were not there. There had been some tnissort.ing at. the Education Board box.
