HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION.
WEEKLY MEETING. The weekly meeting of the Horowhenna Rugby Union was hold last Tuesday evening, the president (Mr E Nash) occupying the chair. Also present were Messrs S. Austin, 11. Hutchins, F. Robinson, Hnrdie, Dimock. Decided that the date for the return rep. match between the Horowhenun. and Manawatu teams be fixed as September 12th. It was pointed out that it was desired that the Junior reps should play a cur-tain-raiser.
Insurance amounting to £2 was passed for payment.
It was decided that the Third Grade and Junior finals be played at Levin next Saturday, the Third Grade to be played ns a curtain raiser to the Junior match.
FIXTURES FOR KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION. Tlie following fixtures were arranged for the first round of the Nash Cup Competition, to lie played next Saturday:— Wanderers v. Otnki, at Otaki. Foxton v. Uni Alai, at Mnnakau. Wernron v. Shannon, at Shannon Mr Robinson was appointed manager of the Rep. team against Nelson, the game to be played on Wednesday, August 20. Decided that, the North v. South Junior reps, game to select a team to meet Manawatu play at Paraparaumu on Saturday, August 23rd. It was decided that the provision of programmes for the Nelson match he arranged by the Secretary. Accounts amounting to £4O 12/6 were passed for payment.
