ANGLO-RUSSIAN TREATY.
MR MASSEY INTERROGATED,
In the House on Tuesday night, the Leader of the Opposition asked the Prime Minister if he could give any explanation, as to why the An-glo-Russian treaty was signed without being submitted to the Dominions, and whether he did not think that it inllicted a set-back to a common foreign policy of the British Empire, Mr: Massey said he had looked through the cables and had had some communications himself from the Prime Minister of Great Britain. He woiil'd scarcely like to exopinion yet Oh'v&at had;|a-j ken .place, but he could not help thinking that the position taken up by the British Government was a very’serious:‘one. Leaving the Sovereign out meant that the prerogative of the Sovereign was gone. He intended to make some communication to the British Government because he thought the matter very important.
