The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 2nd August, reads: “Hemp Manila market, quiet hut steady. ‘J’ grade, .July-September shipments, quoted at £4l 10/- sellers; AugustOctober shipments, £4l 5/- and value. New Zealand market inactive. High points August-September shipments quoted at £37 10/-, fair £35 10/- and value.”
