AVIATION MISHAPS.

AT CHRISTCHURCH. Christchurch, Last Night. This morning Lieut. F. C. Ewen, of Hamilton, while flying over Christchurch suburbs, made a for--1 ed landing in his avro. The wing of tiie machine touched a wire fence, and the machine crashed, the propeller and wing being broken and (lie undercarriage smashed. The aviator was unhurt. A relief machine landed a: mechanic and when starting on his return to the aerodrome the aviator.made another landing in an adjoining paddock, struck a gorse fence and had to land ■ quickly. The strain imposed broke the shock-absorber but otherwise no damage was done.
