MOXTHLY MEETTXO. The monthly meeting of the Manawaln Rabbit Board was field in the Comity Council office. Sanson, on Thursday. .July 12-1 fh.. and was presided over by Trustee 15. 0. Gower (chairman). There were also present Trustees T. A. Grammar, F. C. Raikes, R. Boswell. .J. McKelvie and J. Gloyn. An apology for absence was received from Trustee W. E. Barber. CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows: From (he Department of Agriculture, enclosing its minutes of' enquiries le-pecting each applicant for tlie position of Rabbit Inspector to the Board. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to appoint Air 1). 11. Barron inspector to the hoard, who will take up his duties a* from August Ist. Rate.- — It was unanimously decided that the Mauawatn Rabbit Board under the provisions of “The Rating Act, 1908,'’ and Section 82 of “The Rabbit Nuisance Act. 1908.” do hereby make and levy a rate of two pence-per acre on all rateable properly in the Mauawatn Rabbit District. Sadi rate to be for a period of one year from the Ist day of January, 1921. to the .'list day of December, 1924. and shall become dm- and payable in one sum at ihe Board's office, Foxioii. on the Stli day of August. 1924. OFFICE RENT. It was decided to contribute the sum of 7■ (i per week towards the rent of office at Fusion, for the Board's use. Such agreement to be terminable by one mouth's notice in writing. It was unanimously resolved (on the motion of Trustee Gower, sec- • tided by Trustee Grammar) to pass a hearty vote of thanks to the Mai.awalu County Council for placing til the disposal of the Board, the use •it its others, and also to Mr A. lv.
