X-RAY TREATMENT.
NEGLTGEN CE Al.l EG ED. Auckland. July 21. Alleged negligent conduct of Xray treatment as the result of which his left hand was severely burned. Peter Andrew Nairn Smith, engineer, of Auckland, took action in the Supreme Court against August Bmckelmsli. masseur. Auckland, and George Jo Clive Lowe, medical practitioner, Auckland, claiming joint!v and severally the sum of r.KOO general damages rial £250 special damages for loss of profit from business and £IOO special damages .for medical and hospital ex-
penses. ' The defence by Dr de Clive Lowe was a.general denial of the allegation. He denied that Brackebush gave the plaintiff X-ray treatment which Brackebush alleged had been given under the supervision and direction of de Clive Lowe, and that defendant so negligently conducted the treatment that plaintiff suffered the burn. The defence by Brackebush was a general d nial of the allegations and a denial that the treatment was directed to the healing of a wound caused In- any form of physical injury. Defendant alleged that plaintiff was suffering from epithelio inoor cancer on the tissues on the back of the hand and that he (Braekebusli) undertook to and did Boat such condition according to and under the supervision of plaintiff’s medical adviser, de Clive Lowe. The case was adjourned.
