STRANGE ALLEGATION BY PREMIER. The House spent a very dull afternoon on the Address-in-Reply debate on Tuesday, but in the evening matters livened up. The Premier came into the, held and Mr Holland broke the silence of Labour.. . . Mr Massey broke little new groundnut raised the ire of the Liberal Leader. i In' the course of his speech, Mr Massey said that while he was in England, someone had telegraphed to a certain journalist to “make it hot for Massey.” Mr Wilford interjected that he doubted that. Mr Massey asked if Mr Wilford knew Mr Julian Grande. Mr Wilford: He was in my oflice. Mr Massey: 1 thought so. He added that Mr Grande took an article to a person in the employ of the Government of New Zealtnd, and said he could get it into any of the London newspapers and was going to use it unless he was given more remunerative employment. Mr Wilford said if there was any imputation against him in this matter it was a wicked lie.
