PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Foxton branch of the above was held in the Blanket room yesterday, Mrs W. Walton presiding. There were also present Mesdaines Hynes, Downes, F. Proctor, F. Rimmer, Clirystall, Rowley, A. Ross, Christie, W. Trueman, Baker, Heasman, Pearson and MeMurray (secretary). Apologies for absence wore received from Mcsdames McDonald, F. Robinson and Austin-Johnston. Notification was received from the Foxtou Borough Council forwarding a donation of £2 2/-. —Received with thanks. Correspondence was received ve price of scales, and it was decided to purchase same. The nurse’s report for June showed that visits to Foxtnn numbered 3, visits to homes 3, adults to office 16, babies to office Hi, new cases 1. Collection lmx 3/6. It was decided to hold a social afternoon for mothers on Saturday week in the Presbyterian schoolroom, the committee to arrange with the Palmerston North centre for the Plunket nurse to give a short address. Mesdamcs Ilvnes. Downes. Pro tor and Trueman were set up as a sub-committee to supervise the tea arrangements. Mrs Proctor was appointed flower steward for the ensuing month.
