HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION

WEEKLY MEETING. The weekly meeting of the above Union was held at Levin on Tuesday night. Present: Messrs E. Nash (Chairman), T. O’Rourke, C. Dirnoek, F. Robinson, S. Austin, Hutchins, J. O’Connor, J. W. Riminer and L. S. Carmichael (secretary). CORRESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows: Prom the Tokomaru Club protesting against the referee allowing a try to Shannon after the ball had been forced. A deputation supported the letter. —Decided after lengthy discussion to uphold referee’s decision. From the Porirua Club stating that M. Arthur was not eligible to play in the Horowlienua district. A question was asked if Moki was eligible' and it'was decided .that any club placing him would do ,so. at its" . gown risk. ' from Raliui Club asking-that J. - Fogden be classified as a junior, he not having played senior for two seasons.—Not granted,, the chairman remarking that it was too late Jfto start classifying. The Taranaki Union wrote asking for a rep. match at Taranaki. —Decided not to make the trip this season.

From Ohau School challenging for the Austin banner.—Match to be arraged for Saturday next. It was decided that banner competitions be limited to primary school boys who did not have,proficiency certificates. A letter from the captain of the Paraparaumu third grade team (W. Pari) was received protesting against last Saturday’s referee in the Paraparaumu-Te Horo match, and stating that the referee (Morgan) was a disqualified player as well as being a member of the Te Horo team. —Received.

- From the N.Z.R. Union granting £ls for school footballs. —Received. It was decided that all rep. players pay their own expenses to the point of assembly. Several accounts were passed for payment and the meeting terminated. . _
