THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 21st inst., reads: “Hemp, demand'for Manila is good again and market strong all this week. Closing rates somewhat easier, and business has been done in ‘J’ grade, May-July shipments at £4O and value. Quotations May-July shipments £4O 15/-; June-August shipments £4l per ton and, value. Business with New Zealand hemp reported at high point fair £3O 15/to £3B and fair £35 10/- for JulySeptember shipments.”
