MR. H. V. DUIGAN DROWNED.

Wanganui Yesterday. Afr IT. V. Duigan manager of the “AYpnganui Herald.” and one of the best known local men. lost his life in (he flooded river to-night. In order to make his oil launch safe, lie put off in a dinghy which capsized. Mr Duigan who was an excellent swimmer, had his foot, caught in a rope .anil was drowned. The body was recovered. Deceased was prominent in musical and dramatic circles, was leader of the Alotor Launch Club, and an enthusiast, generally in public affairs. He was well known in Masonic circles, being a Past Master of Lodge Tongariro. News of bis death has caused widespread regret.
