'flic following rulings on the tackle—whilst not new —definitely set forth the position in regard to what n player may and may not do after having been tackled. As the rulings of the International Board they may he taken as authoritative:
1. A player is grasped by an opponent and brought to the ground; tint is not sufficiently held to prevent him passing the hall. He may pass the bull whether it lias touched the ground or not. 2. When a player is grasped and brought down by' an opponent and the hall touches the ground, but such player is not sufficiently held to prevent him lifting the ball and placing it over the line, a try should he allowed. 3. When a player running for the line is grasped by an opponent and brought down, the ball touching the ground outside the line, but the player and ball slide over the line, a try shall be allowed.
