OBITUARY.

MRS A. M. HORNBLOW, AETAT 26 YEARS.

Quite a gloom was east over the town on Saturday evening when it became known that the wife of Mr H. IT. Horn blow, local stationmaster, had passed away at the Palmerston N. Hospital at the early age of 20 years, a victim of blood poisoning. A week previous to her death, the deceased gave birth to n son and three days later developed septicaemia and was removed to the hospital where, despite the utmost that medical skill and attention could devise to save her life, the dreaded germs retained the mastery and she passed peacefully awny. after putting up a brave fight, conscious and calmly resigned up to the moment of dissolution. The deceased was a daughter of the late F. .1. and Mrs Healey, late of Wanganui, and she took up her residence in Foxton with her husband when the latter was appointed stat-ion-master shortly after his marriage. Her spiritual, unselfish and sympathetic nature, endeared her to all whom she came in contact. This was exemplified even in the throes of her extreme illness when she expressed regret that she should cause the medical superintendent and nurses trouble on her behalf. The general sympathy of ihe public will go out to the bereaved husband, infant son and family. The members of the bereaved family are as follows: —Airs and Aliss E. Healey, Wellington: Aliss M. Healey, who had resided with deceased in Foxton- for some lime; Mr Fred Healey, Blenheim; Mr But Healey. Wanganui; Mr Richard Healey, Invercargill. The interrment took place at Wanganui this afternoon, preceded bv a short service in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, of which communion -be was a devoted member. Messages of condolence were rei oivod from local residents, and from all parts of the Dominion. The casket was covered with beautiful floral wreaths, included among which were wreaths from: Foxton Retailers’ Association, Foxion Silver Band and Carnival Orchestra. Foxton Railway staff and carriers, staff of Messrs Levin and Co., and numerous others.
