AUCKLAND BURGLARS SENTENCED.
Auckland, Last Night
In ihe Police Court Patrick Cleary and Ernest. Young were charged with breaking and entering and the theft of explosives. The evidence showed that the accused had hired a taxi at midnight and went to Kohimarama, where they broke into a shed, stole, some explosives, and llk-ii motored do Ellerslie, where they left the taxi, and endeavoured to enter a store and entered the Load Hoard’s office. in the meantime Hie taxi driver became suspicious and informed the police and the accused were arrested on returning to board the car. Cleary pleaded guilty and was sen iSliced tu three months' imprisonment for being in possession of explosives convicted and discharged for tile theft of the explosives and (■oiiimil!eil for sentence lor breaking and entering. Young pleaded not guilty ami was convicted on the two .-.innniarv charges, and held tor senleiioe on Die others.
