WEDDING.

A wedding of local interest was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Paekakariki, on June 12th,. the officiating minister being the Rev. Mr Witherford. The contracting parties were Mr Ernest Breeze senior clerk of the Paekakariki railway staff, son of Mr and Mrs T. Breeze, of Ashburton, and Doris Olive, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Hughes, of Paekakariki. and late of Foxton. The church was beautifully decorated by the ladies of the congregation, with aruin lillies and spring flowers and the service was fully choral, Mrs Sheridan presiding at

the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr G. Hughes, wore a handsome frock of satin marocain, trimmed with a silver tissue panel and (hushed at waist with a diamante buckle and spray of orange blossoms. She wore the usual wreath and veil and carried a sheaf of' arum lillies. She was attended by" Miss Joyce Poppereli, who wore a pale blue satin frock, black lace hat with wreath of forget-me-nots end ribbon streamers, and earned a Victorian posy of violets: site alrlfi wore a gold “Nellie Stewart” bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr D. Bowe was best man. At the. conclusion of the ceremony the minister in a few appropriate remarks, presented the bride with a bihle, on behalf of the church trustees,it being the first marriage to he conducted in the church. The partv then adjourned to the residence of the.bride’s parents for afternoon tea. Mr and Airs Breeze left later for the South amid showers of eonfeiti and (o the hooting of whistles. The bride’s traveiling dress ' was nigger gabardine with hat to match.
