THE HEMP MARKET
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 31st May, reads: “Hemp, Manila market, fair to dull, sale reported £39 5 -, April-July shipments. There are now sellers £39 for May-July Shipments. Output of Manila for April is (>19.009 hales against 5(>3,000 bales for same period hist vear. Stocks in Manila on (lie 3rd May were 148,000 bales against 144.000 bales last ‘ year. Slocks in Great Britain are 4,735 bales against 7.943 bales.
“New Zealand market continues quiet, at last rates quoted, but lias h< eit reported fair afloat sold at £35 c.i.C. London.”
