FIRE BRIGADE BENEFIT.
A benefit entertainment in aid of the local Fire Brigade social fund was held in the Royal Theatre on Thursday night. The hall and pictures were given gratis by the proprietors, Messrs Hamer and Son. Prior to the entertainment the local hand played a number of selections on the hall balcony. Those who contributed to the vocal programme were: Misses Dunn (2), Alorgan (2). Air Lester Sinclair fairly brought down the house with his humorous items “Sipping Cider Through a Straw,” “Tell her I Stutter,” “Sussie,” and a parody on “Till wo Meet Again.” Aliss Patterson played the accompaniments and a full orchestra accompanied the picture. Tiie funds of the brigade will benefit to the extent of upwards of £ls as a result of the entertainment.
