Tin- trespassing animals have been well-nigh got lid of, and only a few goals, sheep and opossums remain. The undorgrowt h, onoe so depleted, now shows wonderful indh-atious of reenvery and eii'orts are. ii is understood, being made towards iota! animal extermination. Sea birds, including blue herons, freely nested on (lie coastal rocks, showing that care was being taken that the sanctuary was respected, and the forest birds have unite nicely. With continued energy this island, it is anticipated, will denioii'trate the wonderful recuperative power or oni birds and forests when animals are excluded therefrom and the inroads of tire avoided.
