Messrs Levin and Co. Ltd. have received the following cable from their Loudon agents, dated 23rd May, 1924: “Quotations ex-store. New Zealand prime Canterbury lamb, 28/ 42’s, 10 15-16 d; North Island lamb 28/42’s, 102 d; prime Canterbury mutton, s(i/64’s 7d; North Island mutton, SG/64’s Gsd; Ewes, 48/64’s sid; New Zealand prime ox beef 160/220’s, hinds none offering, do., fores, none offering. As compared with last week’s quotations, mutton is Id per lb. cheaper, otherwise there is no quotable change. The market-for mutton is very-quiet, but there is a good trade for lamb.”
