RITUAL COMPETITION WON BY FOXTOX.
A district Ritual competition was held ai the Otaki - Town Hall on Saturday, P.A. Bro. Tippler (R.A.C. Nu. 3.) presiding. The judges were R.A.D. Bro. T. Barley, I.R.S. Bro. McCormish, and Treasurer Bro. IVngc (No. 4, R.A.C:). Over eighty brothers, representing various Lodges, were present, and keen interest was taken in the proceedings.
The competition resulted: —Foxton, 681 points, 1; Otaki, No. 1, 646 2: Otaki, No. 2 624 3; Paraparaumu No. 1 586, 4; and Paraparaumu No. •j 568 5. R.A.D. Bro. Barley presented the shield, stating that the competition on the whole was very creditable while Foxton’s effort was the best be had ever listened to. Bro. Hinds, A.D., in accepting the shield, suitably replied. P.A. Bro. Fuller, coach for the winning team, thanked all for kind expressions and for the way in which his team had been received. Supper was afterwards partaken of at the Druids’ Hall, when toasts were honoured and many fine speeches made. Cheers were accorded the winning (earn and judges and the singing of “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.”
The local lodge was represented by the following:—A.D., Bro. G. H. Hinds; V.A., Bro. S. E. Cowley; Se-, erotary, Bro. R. Raaigiheuea; M.C., Bi n. E. A. Fuller ; T.G., Bro. R. Chaffey; J.P.A., Bro. R. Maver; A.D. Bards, Bros. Smith and Howan: Y.A. Bards, Bros. Carter and Lockwood; Candidate: Bro. R. Parker. The work of Bro. Rangiheuea was singled nut for special mention and commendation by the judges and compel mg Lodge representatives.
