"When thieves fall out yon will find that there is a great deal of trouble - ’ stated counsel iu addressing the jury at the Supreme Court: on Saturday. “Ob no,” reminded His Honour “when thieves fall out, honest men come into their wwn.” The Canadian Pacific Railway Company of Canada intend to resume its winter cruises in 1925, once round the world and the other to Mediterranean. Two very large steamers fitted up in a stately fashion will be used, and all the important ports in the Pacific and Mediterrean seas will be visited. “The curses of the present age are sensationalism and emotionalism,” said Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P., at his meeting in Napier (states the Daily Telegraph) and he urged that people make an effort to. remain moderate in their tastes, desires and sentiments as a step towards better conditions. Horse racing in Bagdad, which is organised by the British, is doing much to encourage horse breeding. Numbers of desert sheikhs regularly race their horses in Bagdad and Basra. There is the keenest competition between British and Arab owners. More than 1,000 Arab ponies were last year exported from Bagdad.
