Sir, —Could you tell me if it is true that two of our- local taxidrivers refused to take a poor little child (Lintl had met with a most painful accident; to the Hospital occause the money was not paid in advance .' fs so, Lhey are a disgrace to humanity. 1 remember when there was trouble in a family a short time ago, when a iocal taxi-driver made two special trips to Max - ton lfree, of cost; just to lighten their burden a little and when money was ottered he was insulted and said wden he could not help a mother iu trouble he did not want to live. The law prevents cruelty to animals and y el a poor iitLie mite’s suffering was prolonged for a paltry £3 which a single man Had to put down. —i beg lo remain, Sir, A MOTHER IN SYMPATHY.
