PENSION APPLICANT FINED,
Nelson, May 5. In the Magistrate's Court, Francis Bowman Turner was lined £5 and costs -for making a false statement regarding his income when applying for the old age pension. The evidence disclosed that defendant is in receipt’ of money 'from Home. The magistrate treated the case as a serious one, and imposed a substantial penalty as a warning to others.
