A nnddie-aged man, Henry Watkey, wno was aduulied to the public Hospital on (Saturday for treatment tu an injured hand, died whde *unuer an unaestnetrc administered to him Tor a slight operation. The inquest was held yeslerduy, when evidence was given tiiat deceased was examined by the medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. T isher, prior to the anaesthetic being udmimslered by Dr. Howard. A post mortem was conducted by Dr. Vivian, whu gave evidence that in his opinion death "was due to acute cardiac fadure, induced by chioro- . Tor in. The inquest was adjourned to allow evidence to be given by tbe superintendent, Dr. fisher, who is iu disposed.
