TO INVESTIGATE PROM TOP TO BOTTOM. Wellington. Last Night. The railway situation was considered at a Cabinet meeting held this afternoon. The Prime Minister afterwards informed a press representative that it had been decided that a ConmnsS?i nil should he set up to investigate the whole railway position from top to bottom, including the claims for an increase of wages and improvements in working conditions made by the A.S.R.S. and the proposals of the Department. Mr Massey added that, the personnel of tin- Commision had not ye! been settled but that the Minister of Railways (the Hon. .T. G. Coates) s,vas communicating with several gentlemen who would he suitable for the task.
