Tn the words of a great general “Sometimes a retreat means ultimate victory. The men have been sensible enough to recognise this, ' and have temporarily retreated to Stl V<3 the country inconvenience and disorder and in so doing have gained public sympathy and support which will strengthen their position hnd gain them certain victory when the real fight comes, as it must soon, between the “money-bags” behind Mr Massey and the voice of humanity, represented by the voice of Liberal-Labour, whose aim is “a square deal for everyone.” When we have a truly democintic Government, as wc must soon, these industrial disputes will be impossible and there will be no more strikes. May it come soon. —I am, etc., P. L. HOLDINGS.
