THE HOLIDAYS.

The weather for the Easter holidays was perfect throughout this district.

The only local attraction on Easter Saturday was a football match played on Easton Park between Berhampore intermediates and Foxton juniors which attracted a good attendance of spectators. The local boys won a decisive victory by 25 points to 5. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a dinner in the Town Hall supper-rooms and afterward- at a dance in the Masonic Hall, and on Sunday were motored to Maugahao. They spent a right royal time. Are turn match is to be played at Wellington on June 3rd.

On Saturday and yesterday a large number of local sports motored to Feilding races. The seaside presented an animated appearance, large numbers of visitors being present from all parts of the district and the river foreshore was lined with motor cars. Bathing and boating were indulged in and several boats ’went out over the bar for deep sea fishing, the sea being very calm. A concert and dance was held in the Beach Hall last night and was well attended, the proceeds being in aid of All Saints’ Children’s Home.

A dance, under the auspices of the local Plunket Society, was held in the Masonic Hall last night, but owing to counter attractions, the attendance was not large. ,A most enjoyable time, however, was spent The chaperons were Mesdames F. Robinson, Austin-Johnston, Owen, and Downes.

Hundreds of motors ears, motor cycles and push bikes passed through Foxton during the holidays, carrying people on holiday bent. Cars and passengers were dust covered hut ail seemed in happy mood.
