FOOTBALL FATALITY.
VERDICT OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH RETURNED.
• The coronial enquiry into the death of Louis Phillip Allerby who died iu the Palmerston iN. hospital ou Saturday week as a result of injuries received while playing football at Colyton on that day, was held in the Palmerston Is. Court on Saturday, before Mr J. L. Stout, M.M. After the hearing of lengthy evidence, the coroner found as follows: —“That the verdict would follow the medical testimony, viz., the deceased, Louis Phillip Allerby, met his death through internal hemorrhage caused by a tear in the liver, arising out of a collision on the football held at Colyton on Saturday, sth April.” < Mr Stout said that the evidence showed the collision to have been an accidental one. it was a pure misfortune and the referee, players and nonrplayers were unanimous in deposing that there was no intention to indict a fatal injury. The game was a friendly one, and Russell could have had ho object in ob- ■ siructing unless there was something to be gained. Everybody was sorry'for such an unfortunate occurrence which. all the players ;would f eeh «• ~ '•
